The self checkout lanes are now armed with newly installed LCD screens on TOP of the existing touch screen displays. A camera is pointed at the customer and the entire sequence is broadcast to the screen and also recorded according to a nearby sign. The distance is a mere 2-3 feet too so it's without a doubt up close and very personal. Despite whatever wording Walmart uses to assure customers feelings toward personal privacy, today I felt dirty at the conclusion of my shopping experience....
